## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 7/30/2011, THE AIRCRAFT FLEW TWO AIRSHOW CIRCUITS WITHOUT ANY DISCREPANCIES. ON 7/31/2011, 4 GALLONS OF FUEL WERE ADDED TO THE AIRCRAFT BRINGING THE FUEL LEVEL TO JUST OVER 1/2 TANK. NO ISSUES WERE NOTED DURING PRE-TAKE-OFF RUN-UP OR "CIGAR TIP'S" CHECK. THE A/C WAS AT 350 AGL ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE SHOW LINE WHEN THE PILOT ADVANCED THE THROTTLE TO PULL UP AND AWAY FOR HIS NEXT PASS. HE HEARD A POP AND THE RPM DECREASED. HE LEVELED OFF AND TURNED RIGHT AWAY FROM THE CIRCUIT. HE "JOCKEYED THE THROTTLE" WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. SET UP A GLIDE AT ABOUT 70 MPH AND SET UP A RIGHT DOWNWIND. THE PILOT FELT SOME BUFFETING AS HE TURNED A TIGHT BASE TO FINAL DID NOT WANT TO STALL /SPIN AND UNLOADED THE A/C. HE THEN HIT THE TREES AT THE SOUTHWEST APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY.
