## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RW19 AT FRG A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE RIGHT WING. HE MADE AN AILERON INPUT TO COUNTERACT BUT THE LEFT WING MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRFAT VEERED LEFT INTO THE RUNWAY SAFETY ZONE WHERE IT STRUCK A RUNWAY IDENTIFICATION SIGN, "YAWED" (SPUN) TO THE LEFT APPROXIMITELY 420 DEGREES AND CAME TO REST IN THE GRASS. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIAL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA442](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA442), Aug 6, 2011: Didier Siffer Arion Lightning (N723AD), Farmingdale, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control while landing in a strong quartering crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
