## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 08/06/2011 AT 15:17 PST, PILOT LANDED A/C N28ZZ, A NORTH AMERICAN T-28C, ON RUNWAY 25L AT LONG BEACH AIRPORT. AS THE NOSE WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN, THE LOWER SECTION OF THE NOSE STRUT BROKE OFF AND THE NOSE OF THE A/C SETTLED DOWN ON THE REMAINING SECTION OF STRUT. THE PROPELLER BLADES CONTACTED THE RUNWAY WHICH IN TURN STOPPED THE ENGINE FROM ROTATING. THE A/C VEERED TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY CENTER-LINE AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
