## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY AND PERFORMED A NORMAL TAKE-OFF TO THE NORTHWEST, CLIMBED TO APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET AND ESTABLISHED LEVEL FLIGHT. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS A NOTICEABLE DESCENT DEVELOPED AT WHICH TIME THE PILOT ADDED POWER AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. PILOT ADDED ONE NOTCH OF FLAP BUT SINK RATE CONTINUED. INITIATED EMERGENCY LOAD RELEASE WITH NO RELIEF. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED GROUND IN A SLIGHT CRAB WITH WINGS LEVEL COMING TO REST 40 FEET FROM IMPACT POINT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11LA598](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11LA598), Aug 13, 2011: Air Tractor AT-301 (N73071), Edgeley, ND, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined because postaccident examination of the airplane and engine did not reveal any anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
