## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 08/18/2011 AT 09:36 CDT, N6567 A GRUMMAN G-164-A DEPARTED A DIRT STRIP NEAR EL CAMPO TEXAS WITH INTENTIONS OF CONDUCTING AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS AT AN ADJACENT FIELD. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL LIFT OFF AND CLIMB TO APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT LOST A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF AVAILABLE POWER. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO RETURN TO THE TAKEOFF POINT AND ELECTED TO LAND IN THE NEARBY FIELD. THIS WAS A RICE FIELD WITH APPROXIMATELY 1- 2 FEET OF WATER AND RICE STALKS. THE AIRCRAFT MAIN LANDING GEAR CONTACTED THE WATER, THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED FORWARD ONTO THE NOSE, AND THEN FLIPPED INVERTED, COMING TO REST ON THE TOP WING, AND COLLAPSING THE VERTICAL STABILIZER AND RUDDER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
