## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUG 20 2011 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND THE TWO AIRCRAFT OWNERS OF N8603P ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED SEAMANS AIRPORT TO BEGIN FLIGHT TRAINING IN A PA-24-260. EACH REPORTED THAT WHEN THE LANDING GEAR WAS DEPLOYED VIA THE PRINTED EMERGENCY PROCEDURE FOR TRAINING PURPOSES THAT THE GEAR DEPLOYED BUT NO GREEN GEAR DOWN LOCKED LIGHT WAS RECEIVED. THE PILOTS REPORTED THAT A SECOND ATTEMPT ILLUMINATED THE GREEN GEAR DOWN LIGHT AND THEY PROCEEDED WITH LANDING A SEAMANS FIELD. JUST AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. MAINTENANCE REPORTED NO GEAR ABNORMALITIES UPON INSPECTION AFTER THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
