## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FOLLOWING A SERIES OF TOUCH AND GO MANEUVERS AT BYRON AIRPORT, STUDENT AND INSTRUCTOR HEARD A STRANGE SOUND AND OBSERVED A SMALL METAL PROTRUSION THROUGH THE UPPER WING SKIN. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT OBSERVED THAT LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR GREEN ANNUNCIATION WAS NOT VISIBLE. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT OPERATED AIRCRAFT TO LIVERMORE AIRPORT WITH GEAR IN DOWN POSITION. THEY MANUALLY EXTENDED LANDING GEAR AND OBSERVED 3 GREEN INDICATORS. AIRCRAFT LANDED AT LIVERMORE WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
