## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING FINAL APPROACH, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED HARD ON THE MAIN GEARS, BOUNCED BACK UP IN THE AIR AND CAME DOWN AGAIN VERY HARD ON THE NOSE GEAR RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT NOSE GEAR, FIREWALL, AND FUSELAGE FLOOR. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A PROP STRIKE TO ONE BLADE OF THE PROPELLER. AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP UNASSISTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11LA489](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11LA489), Aug 31, 2011: Cessna 172N (N739RU), Plymouth, MA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate flare and improper recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
