## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2011, THE CREW OF MESABA FLIGHT 2468 WAS NOTIFIED OF A FAINT SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE CABIN ABOUT 17 MILES SOUTH OF FGT ON THE KASPR ARRIVAL TO MSP. ABOUT 1 MINUTE LATER THE CWP CARGO SMOKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND COMPLETED THE EMERGENCY ACTION CARD FOR CARGO SMOKE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 12R, EXITED THE RUNWAY AT A7. THE CAPTAIN INITIATED THE EVACUATION OF THE AIRCRAFT VIA THE FRONT EXIT USING THE AIRCRAFT STAIRS. THE CREW COMPLETED THE EMERGENCY EVACUATION ACTION CARD. THE OVER WING EXITS WERE NOT USED AND THERE WAS NO EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION DURING THE EVACUATION. IT IS ESTIMATED THE TIME REQUIRED TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WAS LESS THAN ONE MINUTE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
