## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT HE NOTED A LOW OIL INDICATION TO THE ENGINE. AS PILOT WAS PERFORMING A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING, THE ENGINE HAD A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. HE PERFORMED AN AUTOROTATION, BUT LANDED ON UNEVEN TERRAIN, AND THE HELICOPTER ROLLED ONTO ITS LEFT SIDE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11LA423](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11LA423), Sep 2, 2011: Arrow Falcon Exporters UH-1H (N205PJ), Stockton, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power due to the separation of a tooth from the starter-generator drive gear, which resulted in failure of the engine oil pump and subsequent oil starvation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
