## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/04/2011, N7WJ, A CESSNA P-210 IMPACTED TERRAIN AT 5.133 MSL WHILE MANUVERING OVER A RANCH IN TEHACHEPI, CA. THE POST-IMPACT BURING FUEL IGNITED A WILD FIRE. THERE WERE TWO FATALITIES ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR11FA430](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR11FA430), Sep 4, 2011: Cessna P210 (N7WJ), Tehachapi, CA, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s intentional low-altitude maneuvering and failure to maintain clearance from terrain due to distraction.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
