## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS 135 CAPABLE CREW WAS CONDUCTING A PART 91 FLIGHT FOR THE OWNERS FAMILY. ON APPROACH TO MTN PIC COULD NOT GET LEFT ENGINE TO RESPOND TO THROTTLE CONTROL. POTOMAC CENTER WAS INFORMED OF A PROBLEM. CREW SHUT DOWN THE LEFT ENGINE AND TRIED TO RESTART. CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND SHUT ENGINE DOWN AND EXECUTED A SINGLE ENGINE APPROACH AND LANDING AT MTN. ALL FUEL COMPONENTS WERE FOUND TO BE CONTAMINATED WITH FERROUS MATERIAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
