## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT, BEFORE LANDING, HE VERIFIED THAT THERE WERE THREE GREEN LANDING GEAR INDICATOR LIGHTS. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, HE HEARD A "CHUK CHUNK" NOISE, AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO SETTLE. HE STATED THAT HE REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT MAIN GEAR. HE STATED THAT HE FELT THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF FIRE, DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FUEL ONBOARD, AND ANY SPARKS WHICH COULD BE CREATED BY THE AIRCRAFT SLIDING DOWN THE PAVED RUNWAY SURFACE, SO HE DECIDED TO ATTEMPT TO STEER THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 19. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED DOWN THE RUNWAY APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN BEFORE DEPARTING THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER 700 TO 1000 FEET, WHILE SPINNING TO THE LEFT APPROXIMATELY 160 DEGREES FROM THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS FOUND FOLDED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
