## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT IS REPORTING THAT DURING TAKEOFF ROLLOUT N7GK HAD A SLIGHT WHEEL SHIMMY JUST BEFORE ROTATING. N7GK DEPARTED RWY 8 WITHOUT ANY OTHER APPARENT PROBLEM. GEAR WENT UP AS PLANNED, AND A LEFT TURN OUT WAS INITIATED WHEN TOWER NOTIFIED THAT SOMETHING HAD FALLEN FROM THE AIRCRAFT DURING DEPARTURE. TOWER THEN NOTIFIED N7GK THAT ITS NOSE WHEEL GEAR (WHEEL AND STRUT ATTACHED) HAD FALLEN OFF THE AIRCRAFT.N7GK THEN FLEW OUT TO THE PRACTICE AREA TO ASSES THE SITUATION AND BURN OFF SOME FUEL. > AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES N7GK REQUESTED A LOW APPROACH TO RWY 8 TO CONFIRM THAT THE NOSE WHEEL WAS NOT IN PLACE. AFTER LOW APPROACH WAS ACCOMPLISHED TOWER CONFIRMED THAT IN FACT N7GK WAS MISSING ITS NOSE WHEEL. N7GK CAME TO A FULL STOP ABOUT FOUR HUNDRED FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN, ALL ELECTRICAL WAS TURNED OFF, AND AN EVACUATION COMPLETED. TWO SOULS ONBOARD REPORTED NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
