## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 15 SEP. 2011 SUBJECT AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE LAFAYETTE AIRPORT (LAF) AT APPROXIMATELY 16:25 WITH TWO PERSONS ON BOARD, THE PILOT AND A PASSENGER. AT APPROXIMATELY 17:02 THE AIRCRAFT ARRIVED IN THE VICINITY OF THE HARBOUR TOWNE GOLF COURSE, NOBLESVILLE IN. THIS IS THE LOCATION OF THE PASSENGER'S RESIDENCE. EYEWITNESS REPORTS INDICATE THE AIRCRAFT CIRCLED THE AREA AT A LOW ALTITUDE BEFORE ENTERING INTO A RAPID NOSE DOWN DECENT, THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WAS DETERMINED TO BE 17:04:44, BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE KILLED. THE INITIAL INSPECTION OF THE SITE INDICATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND ON THE THIRD HOLE OF THE REFERENCED GOLF COURSE AT AN APPROXIMATE HEADING OF 225 DEGREES MAGNETIC AND AT APPROXIMATELY A 75 TO 85 DEGREE PITCH ATTITUDE. THE LEFT WING WAS IN THE POSITION AT WHICH IT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE GROUND, THE RIGHT WING WAS MOVED FORWARD FROM ITS INITIAL CONTACT POINT BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT SEAT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE FORWARD PORTION OF THE FUSELAGE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED; THE TAIL SECTION AFT OF THE COCKPIT AREA WAS MOSTLY INTACT BUT HAD BROKEN AND FALLEN BACK INTO A SAND TRAP. THE ENGINE AND PROPELLER WERE UNDER THE FUSELAGE WRECKAGE AND INACCESSIBLE. THE FUEL TANK HAD BEEN REMOVED BY ONE OF THE RESPONDERS AND WAS LYING AT A DISTANCE APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET FROM THE WRECKAGE. ALL FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES WERE LOCATED AT THE ACCIDENT SITE AND TO THE BEST EXTENT POSSIBLE CONTINUITY WAS ESTABLISHED WITH ALL SURFACES. ALL DAMAGE APPEARED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACCIDENT. INVESTIGATION ALSO FOUND THAT THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT WAS FUELED WITH 12.2 GALLONS OF 93 OCTANE FUEL ON THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT AND INFORMATION RETRIEVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT'S DYNON ELECTRONIC FLIGHT INSTRUMENT SYSTEM SHOWED THAT APPROXIMATELY 14 GALLONS OF FUEL REMAINED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
