## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 4 2011, I RESPONDED TO AN INCIDENT AT DELAND AIRPORT (DED) INVOLVING N701UF A CHALLENGER II LIGHT SPORT AIRPLANE AND PR-PVM A BRAZILIAN REGISTERED S76C HELICOPTER. PV-PVM FLEW IN FROM THE NORTH OF DED AIRPORT, HIS FLIGHT PATH WAS BETWEEN RUNWAY 5 AND THE TAXI WAY WHICH WAS ON HIS RIGHT. N701UF WAS PERFORMING MAGNETO CHECKS ON THE AIRPORTS DESIGNATED RUN UP AREA, WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE TAXI WAY, 100 FEET OR SO FROM THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF RUNWAY 5. AS PR-PVM APPROACHED THE THRESHOLD OF RUNWAY 5, PV-PVM MADE A RIGHT TURN AWAY FROM THE RUNWAY ONTO THE TAXIWAY AND STARTED HIS DECENT AND TRANSITION TO A HOVER TAXI. THE HELICOPTERS PROP WASH CAUSED A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TURBULENCE, WHICH AFFECTED N701UF BY LIFTING THE LEFT WING OFF THE GROUND, RESULTING IN THE RIGHT WING MAKING CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. N701UF SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE; THE RIGHT WING OBTAINED SCRATCHES ON THE LEADING AND TRAILING EDGE. THE SKIN OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT PUNCTURED DURING THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
