## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT DEPARTED HIS NORTH/SOUTH ORIENTED PRIVATE GRASS STRIP TO THE SOUTH AND BEGAN A RIGHT TURN TO THE WEST, AT WHICH TIME THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND RUN ROUGH. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CONTINUE THE TURN TO REACH THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY. WHILE MANEUVERING, THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AND IMPACTED RIGHT WING LOW IN A BEAN FIELD. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTAINED SUFFICIENT PARTICULATE CONTAMINATION TO STOP THE FLOW OF FUEL TO THE CARBURETOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA012](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA012), Oct 8, 2011: Taylorcraft BL-65 (N27492), Easton, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: Debris in the fuel system, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel starvation. Also causal was the pilot not maintaining sufficient airspeed, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.
