## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON A PRIVATE STRIP, PILOT WAS PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS. ON A TAKEOFF, THE AIRCRAFT'S RIGHT WING STRUCK A HAY BALE . PILOT LOST CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT, TRAVELING ACROSS FIELD THROUGH A DITCH, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA022](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA022), Oct 9, 2011: Aeronca 0-58A (N46513), Westmoreland, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate visual lookout and failure to maintain clearance from an obstacle during takeoff.

## Other reports on N46513 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19840407009169A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19840407009169A), Apr 7, 1984: Aronca O58A (N46513), Rutherfordton, NC, Substantial damage. Engine went to full power during taxi and aircraft collided with 3 parked airplanes. Throttle cable was broken.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
