## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SHORTLY AFTER LANDING ON A GRASS STRIP THE AIRCRAFT HIT A BUMP AND THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR. THE INSTRUCTOR THEN ADDED POWER AND THE RETURNED TO HILLSBORO. ON LANDING AT HILLSBORO THEY NOTICED THAT THE AIRCRAFT DIDN'T SEEM TO TRACK NORMALLY ON LANDING ROLL OUT. DURING A WALK AROUND AFTER FLIGHT THEY NOTICED THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR AXLE BENT AND SOME SKIN WRINKLES AFT OF THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA008), Oct 12, 2011: Cessna 172P (N52013), Cornelius, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The airplane’s encounter with an unseen hole or obstacle on the grass runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
