## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING AN AUTO-TOW LAUNCH AT APPROX. 75 FEET, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A CABLE BREAK. THE PILOT RELEASED THE CABLE FROM THE AIRCRAFT WHILE CONTINUING TO CLIMB TO APPROX. 100 FEET, THEN CONTINUED IN STRAIGHT AND LEVEL FLIGHT CONDITION FOR APPROX TWO TO THREE SECONDS. THE PILOT THEN EXECUTED A RIGHT TURN AT APPROX. 75 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO INCREASE BANK ANGLE IN THE TURN AND THEN ENTERED A STALL/SPIN CONDITION IMPACTING THE GROUND IN A NEAR VERTICAL POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12FA010](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12FA010), Oct 13, 2011: DG Flugzeugbau DG 1000S (N7760A), Cle Elum, WA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed and control after takeoff, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
