## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SHORT FINAL, THE THE CREW REPORTED AN INTERMITTENT INDICATION OF SMOKE IN THE CARGO BAY. THE INTERMITTENT INDICATION THEN CHANGED TO THE LIGHT AND ALARM, AND A FULL EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. THE CREW STATED THEY WOULD STOP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RUNWAY AND EVACUATE. IT WAS DETERMINED BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL THAT IT WAS A FALSE INDICATION, AND THERE WAS NO SMOKE OR FIRE.

## Other reports on N217FE (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19911224061229I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19911224061229I), Dec 24, 1991: Boeing 7272S2F (N217FE), Houston, TX. NR2 engine oil filter bypass light came on during takeoff. Returned. Found oil pressure switch bad.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
