## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NO MECHANICAL ISSUES REPORTED.ON APPROACH TO RUNWAY 21 AT 6NC0, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STRUCK AN UNMARKED POWERLINE WHICH PROTRUDES INTO THE APPROACH TO RUNWAY 21. IN 1986 WHEN THIS AIRFIELD WAS APPROVED, THERE WAS A 670 FOOT DISPLACED THRESHOLD TO COMPENSATE FOR THE POWER LINE INTRUSION. THIS DISPLACED THRESHOLD MARKING IS NOT CURRENTLY IN PLACE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA043](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA043), Oct 17, 2011: Fehlner-Shelton Aerosport Scamp WTB1 (N25WS), Grantham, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate clearance from unmarked power lines while on approach to land at a private airport.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
