## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ATTEMPTING TO TAKEOFF FROM A GRASS RWY. NO RUNUP POWER CHECK OR MAGNETO CHECK WAS DONE. DURING TAKEOFF HE THOUGHT THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GENERATING ENOUGH POWER TO GET AIRBORNE. HE ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND RAN OFF THE END OF THE RWY INTO LONGER GRASS AND BRUSH. THE NOSE WHEEL HIT A TREE STUMP AND COLLASPED. THE ASI CHECKED THE FUEL TANK SUMPS AND OBSERVED REDISH BROWN THICK WATER FROM BOTH SUMPS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
