## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT WITH APPROXIMATELY 40 HOURS WAS RETURNING FROM A SOLO CROSS COUNTRY FROM CARROLL COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT (DMW) TO FREDERICK AIRPORT (FDK). PILOT LANDED ON RUNWAY 23 AND DURING ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT VEERD OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE WHEEL DUG INTO THE GRASS AS THE AIRCRAFT CAME OFF THE RUNWAY AND FOLDED BACK UNDER THE AIRCRAFT. THE PROP CAUGHT THE GROUND AND PULLED THE ENGINE, COWLING AND MOST OF THE FRONT OFF THE AIRCRAFT AND TWISTED IT TO THE RIGHT. BLACK TIRE MARKS ON THE RUNWAY UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT WENT INTO THE GRASS INDICATE THE PILOT WAS ON THE BRAKES.
