WHILE ON APPROACH TO AIRPORT PILOT BECAME DISTRACTED BY RAIN AND DID NOT REMEMBER TO LOWER NOSE LANDING GEAR (MAINS ARE FIXED). NO INJURIES AND ONLY DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT WAS TO SKID PLATE THAT WAS INSTALLED FOR THIS PURPOSE.
