## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER ON LANDING DUE TO HIS OVER-APPLICATION OF BRAKES DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT. HE LANDED N357SC SHORT OF THE THRESHOLD OF THE RUNWAY, IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR BACK-TAXIING TO PICK UP ANOTHER GLIDER TOW. THE AREA SHORT OF THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD CONSISTS OF GRAVEL. THUS, WHEN THE AIRPLANE REACHED THE PAVED SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY- UNDER HEAVY BRAKING - THE MAIN TIRES SUDDENLY "BIT IN" TO THE PAVEMENT CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO NOSE OVER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
