## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHEN CAPITAL CARGO FLIGHT 124, MCI-STL, STARTED TAKE-OFF ROLL AT MCI, THE CREW HEARD A LOUD BANG AND ABORTED THE TAKEOFF. AS THEY TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP, THEY ADVISED GROUND CONTROL THAT THEY SHOULD SEND A TRUCK TO THE RUNWAY TO CHECK FOR DEBRIS. LARGE PIECES OF THE ENGINE WERE FOUND ON RUNWAY 9, AND MCI ATCT CLOSED THE RUNWAY TO CLEAR THE FOD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
