## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/27/2011 N996CT A FLIGHT DESIGN GMBH, MODEL CTSW, SERIAL NUMBER 06-12-16 EXPERIENCED A COLLAPSED NOSE GEAR DURING LANDING AT EL MONTE AIRPORT(EMT) CALIFORNIA. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT SHOWED THAT THE NOSE ASSEMBLY COLLAPSED DAMAGING THE FIREWALL. THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD WAS NOTIFIED AND THIS MATTER WAS DETERMINED TO BE AN INCIDENT. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR EYEWITNESS STATED THAT SHE OBSERVED THE AIRCRAFT LANDING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND AS THE AIRCRAFT GOT CLOSER TO THE RUNWAY, IT BALLOONED UP, CAME BACK DOWN IN A NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. AT THIS TIME THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR NOTICED THAT THE NOSE GEAR HAD COLLAPSED. THE FINDINGS FOLLOWING THE INVESTIGATION RESULTED IN RE-EXAMINATION FOR THE PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
