## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12/07/2011 AT 0025 CST N701A FLIGHT NUMBER 1465, A SHORT BROTHERS SD3-60 WAS AT FLIGHT LEVEL 9000 AGL WHEN THE LH ENGINE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. AFTER AN UNSUCCESFUL RESTART ATTEMPT THE ENGINE WAS SECURED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS DIVERTED TO IND AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE ENGINE POWER LOSS WAS ATTRIBUTED TO A BIRD STRIKE TO THE PROPELLER AND THE BIRD WAS INGESTED INTO THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE TEARDOWN INVESTIGATION IS STILL IN PROGRESS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
