## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12/22/2011, N3049W (BEECH BONANZA, F33) LANDED WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE "UP" POSITION AT ST LOUIS DOWNTOWN AIRPORT (CPS) IN CAHOKIA, IL. THERE WAS ONE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT, WITH NO INJURIES. THE INTENDED FLIGHT WAS TO MAKE APPROXIMATELY THREE TAKE-OFFS AND LANDINGS FOR CURRENCY PURPOSES. HOWEVER, ON THE SECOND LANDING, THE AIRPLANE WAS LANDED WITH THE GEAR IN THE "UP" POSITION. AFTER QUESTIONING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (PILOT), HE SAID THAT EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL, BUT HE COULD NOT REMEMBER IF HE HAD THREE GREEN LANDING GEAR POSITION LIGHTS, OR NOT, AND COULD NOT REMEMBER IF HE HAD AN AURAL WARNING.^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ASKED IF HE HAD HIS MAINTENANCE LOGBOOKS WITH HIM, AND HE DID NOT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE THE LOGBOOKS BROUGHT TO THIS OFFICE NO LATER THAN CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON 12/27/11. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THEN ASKED TO PROVIDE HIS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE FOR THE INSPECTORS TO SEE, BUT HE HAD LOST HIS PAPER COPY BACK A FEW WEEKS AGO.TWO INSPECTORS FROM THE STL FSDO INVESTIGATED THE ACCIDENT ON 12/22/2011. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED FROM THE RUNWAY, LANDING GEAR LOWERED AND TOWED TO A HANGAR. WHILE AT THE HANGAR, IT WAS REQUESTED THAT THE MECHANIC COMPLETE A GEAR SWING WHILE THE INSPECTORS WERE PRESENT. THE LANDING GEAR WAS RETRACTED AND EXTENDED TWICE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
