## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A DUAL FLIGHT INSTRUCTION TRAINING FLIGHT, THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI) DECIDED TO "STAY ON THE CONTROLS" DURING THE LANDING MANUEVER. THEY EXECUTED A NORMAL CROSSWIND LANDING TECHNIQUE, WHEN, UPON SETTING THE NOSEWHEEL DOWN ON THE RUNWAY, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE. THE CFI IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE NOSEWHEEL BACK OFF THE GROUND IN ANTICIPATION OF A FLAT NOSE TIRE. HE SLOWED THE AIRCRAFT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WHILE KEEPING LONGITUDINAL CONTROL AND GENTLY SET THE NOSEWHEEL DOWN TO THE RUNWAY. THE NOSEGEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT SKIDED TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR FIRE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
