## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 13, 2012, AT APPROXIMATELY 1430 LOCAL TIME, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, THE SOLE OCCUPANT AND PIC OF N6903U, A MOONEY M20C, TOOK-OFF FROM BREMERTON NATIONAL AIRPORT (PWT) HEADING TO RENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (RNT). UPON TAKE-OFF FROM PWT ON RUNWAY 01, THE AIRCRAFT REACHED VR AND PROCEEDED TO ROTATE AND AT APPROXIMATELY 70 KIAS THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO CLIMB. THE PILOT INDICATED THAT HE RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR AND ATTEMPTED TO LOCK THE "JOHNSON BAR" BETWEEN THE FORWARD SEATS, BUT THE BAR MET RESISTANCE. THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT HAD FALLEN AND HAS HINDERED HIM FROM LOCKING THE GEAR BAR IN THE GEAR-UP POSITION. AS HE MOVED THE SEAT BELT AND ATTEMPTED TO LOCK THE GEAR BAR, THE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY, HE THEN PROCEEDED BY PULLING BACK SLIGHTLY ON THE YOKE SO THE AIRCRAFT WOULD REMAIN AIRBORNE AND THAT HE COULD EXTEND THE GEAR AND LAND ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY. THE PILOT INDICATED THAT HE LANDED WITH APPROXIMATELY 1500 FEET OF RUNWAY REMAINING, EXITED THE RUNWAY, AND PARKED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER SOME SKIN DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT, BROKEN ROTATING BEACON, AND DAMAGED ANTENNAES. NO PERSON WAS INJURIED AND NO PROPERTIES WERE DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT OTHER THAN THE SUBJECT AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
