## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N269P DEPARTED GENERAL DEWITT SPAIN AIRPORT AT 1430 ON 29 JANUARY, 2012, TO PRACTICE LANDINGS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RECEIVED A WEATHER BRIEFING FROM AWOS, AND IT REPORTED CLEAR SKIES AND VISIBILITY GREATER THAN 10 MILES. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PRACTICED APPROXIMATELY THREE LANDINGS WHEN THE PATTERN BEGAN TO FILL UP, SO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW TO CHARLES BARKER AIRPORT TO FINISH HIS PRACTICE LANDINGS. HE ENTERED THE PATTERN AND FOUND A RED RV WAS ALSO USING THE PATTERN TO PRACTICE LANDINGS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PERFORMED THREE FULL STOP LANDINGS AND ONE TOUCH AND GO. DURING THE LAST LANDING, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FAILED TO ENSURE THAT THE LANDING GEAR INDICATORS (RED & WHITE POLES THAT EXTEND ABOVE THE TOP OF THE WINGS) OR THE LANDING GEAR LIGHTS IN THE COCKLPIT INDICATED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS DOWN PRIOR TO PERFORMING HIS LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE RUNWAY WITH THE GEAR UP AND DAMAGED THE PROPELLER, ENGINE AND THE FLAP ASSEMBLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
