## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N272CB DEPARTED POCONO MOUNTAINS, PA. (PMO) AT 2308 UTC ON REPOSITION FLIGHT TO BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL (BWI). ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) CHECKED IN WITH BWI AIR TRAFFIC/APPROACH AND WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 33R. AFTER TOUCHING DOWN ON RUNWAY 33R (LENGTH 5000'), PILOT ELECTED THRUSTER REVERSERS (T/R) AND STATED THAT HE HAD NO THRUST REVERSERS AFTER SELECTION. PIC APPLIED BRAKES AND THE AIRCRAFT FAILED TO COME TO A STOP BEFORE DEPARTING RUNWAY 33R. THE NOSE LANDING GEAR BOUNCED TWICE AT 69 FEET AND 127 FEET RESPECTIVELY, AND THEN SHEARED OFF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STRUT AT 152 FEET; AIRCRAFT STOPPED 193 FEET FROM THE END OF RUNWAY 33R.PIC STATED THAT THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF ANY SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS, BUT DID STATE THAT HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A LITTLE FAST ON HIS APPROACH. PIC DOES NOT RECALL WHERE HE TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 33R, BUT DID STATE THAT THERE WERE NO THRUST REVERSERS AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND THEY APPLIED BRAKES. PILOTS BOTH RECONFIRMED THAT THEY HAD AIRCRAFT BRAKES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The pilot-in-command's failure to obtain the proper touchdown point or landing reference speed and failure to initiate a go-around when it became evident that the airplane was landing long and fast.…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
