## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INCIDENT AIRCRAFT (N3053N) WAS IN THE RUNUP AREA OF 29R WHEN AMERICAN FLIGHT 832, AN MD83, WAS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF. THE RESULTANT JET BLAST FROM THE MD83, AS IT MADE A LEFT TURN FROM THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR TAKEOFF, LIFTED N3053N ONTO ITS TAIL. THE PLANE CAME BACK DOWN ON ITS L WINGTIP AND ITS NOSE, WITH A RESULTANT PROP STRIKE. THE CFI IN THE RIGHT SEAT OF 3053N WAS NOT ANTICIPATINGSUCH A RESULT, AS HE DID NOT THINK THE DEPARTING MD-83 USED EXCESSIVE POWER TO ROLL AWAY FROM THE HOLD SHORT LINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
