## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT MADE A HARD LANDING ON RUNWAY 8 AND PORPOISED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INITIATE A GO AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONFIGURED WITH FULL FLAPS AT THE TIME OF THE ATTEMPTED GO AROUND. PILOT INITIATED THE GO AROUND AT A LOW AIRSPEED. THE RESULT WAS A DEPARTURE STALL WITH AN ASSOCIATED LEFT YAW. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AND THE NOSE GEAR SEPERATED AT THE STRUT. THE PROP THEN STRUCK THE GROUND AND THE PLANE FLIP NOSE OVER ONTO ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA088](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA088), Feb 2, 2012: Cessna 172S (N5026C), Mokuleia, HI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare and inadequate recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
