## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N863BD WAS HOLDING SHORT OF RUNWAY 4R AT CHICAGO MIDWAY AIRPORT, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (KMDW). MIDWAY TOWER ISSUED A CLEARANCE FOR N863BD TO CROSS RUNWAY 4R AND WAS CLEARED FOR TAKE-OFF ON RUNWAY 4L. N863BD CROSSED RUNWAY 4R AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF FROM TAXIWAY KILO BETWEEN RUNWAY 4R AND RUNWAY 4L. THE TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED AFTER LEAVING THE PAVEMENT. N863BD TURNED AROUND IN THE GRASS, STRIKING A TAXIWAY LIGHT AS THE AIRCRAFT REENTERED THE TAXIWAY PAVEMENT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE PILOT IN COMMAND PERFORMED A RUN-UP AND THEN REQUESTED A TAKE-OFF CLEARANCE. MIDWAY TOWER ISSUED THE TAKE-OFF CLEARANCE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW THE AIRCRAFT TO WESTCHESTER COUNTY AIRPORT, WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK (KHPN) WITHOUT INCIDENT. UPON FAA INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT THE PROPELLER WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED MISSING HUGE PORTIONS OF THE LEADING EDGE AND TIPS OF THE PROPELLER. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL HAD A FLAT SPOT TO THE CORD AND YELLOW PAINT TRANSFER FROM THE TAXIWAY LIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
