## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 2ND 2012, AN SIAI-MARCHETTI SF 260 TP, REGISTRATION NUMBER N350TP LOST CONTROL DURING LANDING ON CORONA (AJO) AIRPORTS RUNWAY 24 AT 14:40 PACIFIC STANDARD TIME. THE PILOT OF THE AIRCRAFT, STATED THROUGH HIS WRITTEN STATEMENT TO THE FAA AND NTSB, HE ABORTED THE LANDING AND INITIATED A GO AROUND. THE PILOT ALSO STATED IN HIS STATEMENT,THAT THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY DRIFTED TO THE LEFT, AND DID NOT RESPOND TO THE CONTROL INPUTS. SO FAR THE PASSENGER HAS BEEN CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES BUT HAS BEEN UNAVAILABLE FOR COMMENT OR HAS YET TO PROVIDE A WRITTEN STATEMENT. THE FAA ARRIVED ON SCENE AND SAW THE DAMAGE WHERE THE AIRPLANE IMPACTED ANOTHER AIRCRAFT (N2157R) THAT WAS PARKED AND TIED DOWN. N2157R HAD ITS LEFT WING MOSTLY RIPPED THROUGH AND FOLDED OVER TO THE STARBOARD SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE, THE AIRCRAFT HAD ALSO STRUCK A FORD 4 DOOR VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO HAVE ITS ROOF CRUSHED AND SLICED OPEN. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO THE CORNER OF A HANGAR BUILDING ON THE WEST END OF THE CORONA (AJO) AIRPORT. THE PROPELLER HAD SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND HAD ALSO IMPACTED THE CORNER OF THE METAL HANGAR APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET FROM WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. FIRST RESPONDERS WERE ON SCENE INCLUDING CORONA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND LOCALPARAMEDICS WHO INSPECTED THE PILOT AND 1 PASSENGER FOR INJURIES. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED, EVEN THOUGH SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE PILOT STATED TO THE FAA OVER THE TELEPHONE THAT HE CURRENTLY HAS A SORE NECK. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE DURING THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA121](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA121), Mar 2, 2012: Siai-Marchetti SF.260TP (N350TP), Corona, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot did not maintain runway alignment during landing in a gusting crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
