## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 10 2012 AT 1757 SHORTLY AFTER TAKE OFF THE PILOT NOTICED SPARKS COMING FROM THE RIGHT ENGINE. THE PILOT SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND LANDED SAFELY BACK AT FXE. THE PILOT NOTICED A SMALL AMOUNT OF PAPER AND TAPE NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE THAT HAD SMOLDERED AND GIVEN OFF SPARKS. THE TAPE AND PAPER WERE LEFT OVER FROM A RECENT PAINT JOB. THE AIRCRAFT HAD NO DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
