## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

RECEIVED CALL FROM GL ROC ON 03/13/2012 @ 2345 FOR THIS ACCIDENT. ARRIVED AT SCENE ON 03/14/2012 @ 0745. ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT AIRCRAFT HAD NO FUEL AT ALL IN WING TANKS. FUEL SELECTOR WAS ON LEFT TANK, LANDING GEAR DOWN, LANDING LIGHT ON, FLAP SELECTOR AT 10 DEGREES. AIRCRAFT WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED BUT WHAT COULD BE OBSERVED APPEARED TO BE IN WORKING ORDER. IT APPEARED FROM THE ANGLE OF IMPACT THE AIRCRAFT HAD STALLED AND SPUN INTO THE GROUND. RECEIVED RECORDINGS FROM ATC. PILOT INDICATED TO CVG ATC THAT HE NEEDED TO LAND AT CVG FOR FUEL. PILOT WAS IN CONTACT WITH ATC DURING DESCENT TO ROUGHLY 2500' MSL. A FEW MINUTES LATER CALLED BACK AND SAID ENGINE HAD SHUT DOWN. AIRCRAFT DISSAPEARED FROM RADAR SHORTLY AFTER THAT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12LA224](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12LA224), Mar 14, 2012: Cessna T210J (N2275R), Rabbit Hash, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate preflight and in-flight fuel planning, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
