## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS COMPLETING A CROSSWIND LANDING WITH GUSTING WINDS FROM THE RIGHT. THIS PILOT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT UPON TOUCHDOWN HE REMOVED THE CRAB, BUT DID NOT LOWER THE RIGHT WING ADEQUATELY TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN WHILE DRIFTING TO THE LEFT, WHICH STRESSED THE LOWER NOSE GEAR BRACE TO THE POINT OF FRACTURE. THE NOSE GEAR OPERATION WAS NOT AFFECTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED TO THE TIEDOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
