## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING TAKEOFF ROLL AT ANN ARBOR MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KARB) ON RUNWAY 06, THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL TO THE LEFT AS EVIDENCED BY SKID MARKS. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT AND SHEARED IT OFF. THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE FOR A SHORT DISTANCE THEN IMPACTED THE GROUND AND CAME TO A STOP UPRIGHT IN A GRASSY AREA AT AN ESTIMATED 200 FEET NORTH OF THE DEPARTURE RUNWAY.THE PILOT WAS TRAPPED IN THE CABIN AND FIRST RESPONDERS WERE REQUIRED TO EXTRICATE THE PILOT FROM THE WRECKAGE. THE PILOT SUSTAINED TWO BROKEN LEGS AND A WRIST FRACTURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA231](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA231), Apr 5, 2012: Remos Acft Gmbh Flugzeugbau Remos GX (N75GX), Ann Arbor, MI, destroyed. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain airplane control on takeoff, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
