## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 16, 2012, AT APPROXIMATELY 12:06 LOCAL TIME, THE PILOT OF N1758G DEPARTED SALINAS AIRPORT (SNS). A LOCAL MECHANIC NOTICE THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS TRAILING AND HAD NOT RETRACTED. THE MECHANIC NOTIFIED THE TOWER AND THE TOWER NOTIFIED THE PILOT. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CYCLE THE GEAR SEVERAL TIMES BUT COULD NOT GET THE NOSE WHEEL TO RETRACT. THE PILOT LANDED ON RUNWAY 26 WITH THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
