## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 21, 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 1815 MDT, N8518M, A BEECHCRAFT BONANZA MODEL P-35 AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED DURING AN ATTEMPTED TAKEOFF FROM CENTENNIAL AIRPORT (KAPA) ENGLEWOOD COLORADO. THE SOLE OCCUPANT ON BOARD SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. WEATHER AT THE TIME WAS VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (VMC).

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN12LA252](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN12LA252), Apr 22, 2012: Beech P35 (N8518M), Englewood, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to abort the takeoff after the airplane failed to gain adequate airspeed.

## Other reports on N8518M (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19841021061919I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19841021061919I), Oct 21, 1984: Beech P35BEECH (N8518M), Knoxville, TN, Minor damage. During landing rollout pilot inadvertantly retracted gear instead of flaps.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
