## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKEOFF FROM MARR FIELD AIRPORT (0OR7) APPROXIMATELY 0.7 MILES SOUTH THE PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT HAD A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. HE SAID HE ELECTED TO REDUCE THE POWER AND LAND IN AN OPEN AREA. HE STATED THE FIELD WHERE HE LANDED WAS WET AND LIMITED HIS ABILITY TO STOP. HE SAID THAT HE HAD TO APPLY THE AIRCRAFT BRAKES FULLY TO AVOID A TREE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO FLIP UPSIDE DOWN AND CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE RUDDER AND VERTICAL FIN. THE PROPELLER WAS ALSO DAMAGED BY STIKING THE GROUND. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE ONLY OCCUPANT THE PILOT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OF THE NTSB RAISED THE POSSIBLITY OF HAVING THE ENGINE RUN AT A FUTURE DATE DUE TO THE ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12LA181](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12LA181), Apr 22, 2012: Cub Crafters CC11-100 (N499CC), Monmouth, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power during takeoff for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
