## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N2701F HAD LANDED AT DELLE A PRIVATE FIELD. AT THE EAST END OF THE RUNWAY IS A LARGE PARKING LOT, FOR THE ADJACENT TRUCK STOP. A LARGE PILE OF ROAD GRAVEL HAD BEEN DUMPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS PARKING LOT. N2701F DECIDED TO USE THIS PARKING LOT TO TAKE OFF ON INSTEAD OF THE RUNWAY. ON THE TAKEOFF ROLL HE STRUCK THIS LARGE MOUND OF ROAD GRAVEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA179](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA179), Apr 22, 2012: Cessna 182J (N2701F), Delle, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to properly monitor the environment during the departure from a gravel parking area and runway, which resulted in the airplane’s collision with a mound of gravel.
