## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON THE PILOT'S FIRST TAKEOFF OF THE DAY; SHE WAS INTENDING TO FLY FROM LANCASTER, PA, TO YORK, PA. THE LANCASTER TOWER CONTROLLER CLEARED THE AIRCRAFT FOR TAKEOFF ON RWY 31 AND REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED AT 1119 LOCAL TIME. ACCORDING TO A WITNESS, THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE, TOUCHED DOWN AND BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR TWICE, STRUCK THE GROUND A THIRD TIME, AND CAME TO REST. A BROKEN TAXIWAY LIGHT, GROUND SCARS, AND A SHEARED OFF TAXIWAY LIGHT STANCHION SUPPORT THE WITNESS ACCOUNT AND INDICATE THAT THE AIRCRAFT DID GET AIRBORNE BUT VEERED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT BEFORE CONTACTING THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12CA302](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12CA302), Apr 25, 2012: Evektor-Aerotechnik Sportstar (N505EV), Lancaster, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during the takeoff, and her delayed remedial action in aborting the takeoff after the loss of directional control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
