## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 29, 2012, AT APPROXIMATLY 1415 PDT, N2194C ENCOUNTERED WIND GUSTS AND GROUND-LOOPED AFTER IT TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 34 AT MCCLELLAN AIRFIELD (KMCC). THE AIRCRAFT VEERED RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE, THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, THE LEFT WING TIP WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, AND THE PROPELLER WAS BENT WHEN IT TOUCHED THE GROUND AS THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE WHITE STRIPE OF THE RUNWAY EDGE. THE PILOT STATED THAT, AT THAT VERY CRITICAL MOMENT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS GOING VERY SLOWLY WHEN HE APPLIED FULL LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE, IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL; HOWEVER, THAT DID NOT HELP THE SITUATION.AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTION NOTED NO MECHANICAL ANOMALIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR12CA192](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR12CA192), Apr 29, 2012: Cessna 195B (N2194C), Sacramento, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll while landing with a gusting wind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
