## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 6, 2012, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS FLYING HIS TEXAN AT-6 (N1284) FROM HIS HOME BASE IN MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, ALABAMA TO ROY E. RAY AIRPORT (5R7) IN BAYOU LA BATRE, ALABAMA FOR A FRIENDS FLYIN. THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL THE LANDING. UPON LANDING THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOUCHED DOWN LONG AND A LITTLE FAST AND DECIDED TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND DUE TO OAK TREES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WAS ALMOST AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED A DRAINAGE DITCH AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN TIPPED UP ON ITS NOSE CAUSING A PROP STRIKE TO THE ENGINE AND A SMALL DENT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE COWLING. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
