## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DEVELOPING SPEED WHILE ON THE GROUND ROLL.AND IT TOOK HIM LONGER TO ACHIEVE ROTATION SPEED, HE ROTATED THE AIRCRAFT AT A SPOT THAT WAS FURTHER DOWN THE RUNWAY THAN NORMAL, AFTER ROTATION HE STATED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO CLEAR THE TREES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY SO HE PUSHED THE NOSE DOWN AND APPLIED LEFT RUDDER TO GET THE AIRCRAFT BACK ON THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA12LA335](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA12LA335), May 13, 2012: Piper J3C-65 (N98568), South Canaan, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed decision to abort the takeoff during shifting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
